Does anyone know if cutting off the front sight and threading is an option on these barrels? I know your not able to cut less than 18 inches. Which this is advertised as an 18.5" barrel. But can anyone give the exact measurement from the bolt face?
I just don't have a rifle in my possession to measure this. Any help and input is appreciated.
Of course I wouldn't be doing the work myself so any help with a great southern AB smith would be cool too.

Thanks guys!

The more I think about this the more I'm leaning towards just buying a 10/22 and finding an sr 22 barrel. 16" looks better anyways. Don't wanna go 16" dlask unless he could spin me out a factory sporter taper, just for weight reasons.

ya i was just gonna say that from what ive read over the last year that the Rock Island Arms 10/22 knock offs are not really interchangeable with other 10/22 parts.
