Hi, I've got an older side folding Ruger 10/22 stock that had been cut down. I'd like to have it restored back to its original length. Any suggestions on who might do that kind of work?

I have been doing that with Ross rifles regularly. Anyone with a mill or lathe with milling attachment and a dovetail router bit can do it. Dovetail the two pieces together to a tight fit in an inconspicuous area (under a band is best), glue it up and it'll be tough as nails. Getting wood to match perfectly is pretty well impossible, however, and the work can be time consuming. I charge $200 for a Ross fore end for example.

How much has been cut off? Do you want a accent tip added like rose wood? Is the stock beech? Can you post a pic for us? Am I out of questions?? ( for now!!) Getting it back to length is easy.

I don't have a wood stock to compare it too. But I'd guess about 4". I'd like to just match it up with walnut as best as I could.

You could always use a complementary wood such as Rosewood for the add on. Router your barrel channel close to what you need, cut it on an angle glue and clamp and shape it to match when dry. My not be as original but might fix your issue.
