Cutting back a Rem 760 to a carbine?

Your right Cub.I have both 22'' barreled 760s/7600s,and carbines, and I believe that the rem pumps are at their best when they are carbines.
Yep I agree - I've had both and my pump action "go to" choice for my kind of hunting is my 7600/35Whelen Carbine (an uncataloged special Remington run). I sold off my 22" version to a fellow CGNer as soon as I got the short one.

We cut a 30-06 7600 to 20" lost less than 100 fps made for a much better handling gun. Love my 18.5 carbines never kept a 22 " rifle version for long and i have owned several.

20" is the sweet spot with 760/7600s. I've had 3 done over the years.
