cutting down a 10/22 barrel

It cannot be cut to shorter than 470mm. It can be manufactured shorter and if your overall length is greater than 27" it's still non-restricted. There were 8" around for a while. Ronin was selling them? I dunno.

is it legal to have a 20" 10/22 barrel cut to a shorter length in canada?

you never replied to my question?

never the less here is some useful information.

LESS THAN 18"/457mm BARREL LENGTH RULES:

CC s. 84(1) "prohibited firearm" (d): If the barrel has been SHORTENED to less than 18"/457mm, after leaving the factory, "by sawing, cutting or ANY other alteration or modification" that forces the firearm into the "prohibited firearm" class.

Check this link plenty of useful info on barrel length!

NO. It MUST be manufactured that way. You are not allowed to alter the length of a barrel. But you can buy short barrels (3", 8" 10" 12" etc.) and, as already stated, as long as the overall length of the firearm is greater than 27" it will remain NON- restricted.

Fabsports is looking into some 10" barrels I do believe. I think there are some other retailers providing short barrels as well but their names escape me at the moment.

Ugghhhh. I want to make a statement about Ronin but it's hard to do when there's misinformation coming from all sides. I'll just say he seemed like a good guy on CGN.
