Here's some pics....

The whole process took about 45 minutes from start to finish, and I took my time cutting the D-ring, so as not to make any slips. I had a sharp knife handy in case I did slip with the dremel, and had to slash my wrists. :p Seriously though, it was a piece of cake, and for me, at least, a better option than removing the barrell.


What I heard was that Samson cloned the free floating Troy design and got canned for it... is that the true story?

Anyhow, It seems pretty solid... nothing loose, no play anywhere.

It's an LMT, so there wouldn't have been taper pins to worry about anyhow :D

I've never cut off a delta ring, but I've removed a barrel (got the tools for free from a friend). Sounds/looks like about the same amount of work either way. Good job popcan, and it looks like you've got lots of rail space to hang un-needed stuff off now ;)

It's actually Canucklheads' fault... I wasn't really looking for a rail, but he SOLD it to me. :confused:



It seemed like a good idea at the time, so I bought it. :rolleyes: :D


But, you have to admit, it looks gooooood! :)
 
Looks good Popcan! A LMT with UTG handguards - now THAT'S a travesty!

I actually found that the FF rail improved accuracy slightly. It's pretty rock solid as I'm sure you know now - I'd have no issues hanging optics off the front.
