I just purchased a CVA 36 cal. Cap and Ball revolver it has a chrome barrel, reciever and cylinder with brass around the grip. It was made in Italy, can anyone tell me more or point me in the right direction to find info about this type of gun.

Guns from Italy are all generaly made in "Gun Valley",
by a few gun makers.
Factorys make guns with several different names on them to be shipped
to North America to different distributers.
With modern C n C machining, they all tend to have a high standard for minimum quality.
I have seen several, and they are hard to tell apart.
Some factorys have better reputations than others when it comes to fit and finish.

CVA used Armi San Marco (ASM), an Italian gunmaker , for some of it's pistol line.
I had a Remington .44 new army , and it was a decent piece .Marked CVA and made by ASM. .(The Armi San Marco company is no longer in operation having been purchased by American Western Arms years ago)
