I have a CVA Hawken muzzleloading rifle. It has two barrels with it. One is a .50 and the other is a .54. It seems to be in very good condition. What might the value be of this as a package?

They weren't expensive muzzle loaders to begin with, not that I had any complaints about the one I had. Thompson Centre had much nicer finished ones, the CVA's are from Spain I believe. Their fit and finish was along the lines of Savage, functional but not pretty.

I bought a new CVA Kentucky rifle kit for $150.00 it is .45 cal, someone bought it and it sat around for years un-assembled. If it has a one piece full length stock it is worth more than the two piece with brass spacer (like mine). These were considered entry level rifles and aren't really valuable unless some one has done a lot of extra work on it.
Post some pictures and lets see what you have, also any markings on the barrel?

I have one of those forget what I paid for it, came with both barrels, the .50 was assembled on the gun but when I tried to install the .54 barrel it would not go into the stock, would have had to inlet the stock for it to fit which would have made the .50 barrel usless.I was wondering if your .54 barrel actually fits.Fun gun but lots of work when done shooting

cva

looks to be in decent cond, as the previous guys have said"they werent fancy" but they shoot good, with the 2 barrels, and given the internals of each barrel is nice, id say its a 300$ set?
ic thompsons go on here for 3-400$ in really nice shape, hope it helps

Back in the eighties I picked up one of these kits and put the 54cal barrel on it,could punch holes in playing cards offhand at 50yds no problem, got my first muzzle dear with it too. IIRC I paid just under $200 for the kit then. The stock on yours does not look like factory finish and the bluing on the metal does not look factory either, whether it is a kit or refinished is impossible to tell. The early guns were 1" across the flats and later 15/16"
If the barrels are clean, and the triggers are good, as a set, it could be worth $350.

I have seen the same rifle set up at a gun show for the past 3 years and the guy still had not sold it. He started asking $350 and the last I seen was I think $275. With all the cheap inlines out there it is hard to get a decent price on these rifles.
