I just picked up a CVA Scout V2 444 from Irunguns. It came with a thread protector (much to my surprise), a muzzle break, plastic trigger lock, and a one piece base which made scope mounting a breeze due to the location of the slots. The quick takedown feature is awesome. Simply pull the lever and off comes the forestock. The trigger on this rifle is insane. Compared to the dozen Handi rilfes I have owned and three Henry single shots, there is NO comparison. I cannot wait to get it to the range! For the money, I am impressed! Range report to follow.

I’ve been pretty interested in these; would love to hear and see more! Some cool vids online of some Germans hunting in Africa with one with a red dot on it.

Whelp, I just went to CVAs site, noticed they have these Scouts in .35 Whelen, which I've never owned, and now it looks like I'm the soon-to-be owner of a CVA Scout V2 Stainless in .35 Whelen.

I guess I need dies and brass now and a scope to go with.

Wife'll be pissed!

^ Hey Don, I can load it down to sub 44 Mag levels or supe it up to shoot lengthways through a moose with hard cast. Mad fun!

@The Kurgan, I am quite impressed with the build quality. Locks up very tight, and the hammer can be cocked silently with ease. The Henrys I have owned had that damn crinkle on cocking due to the coil spring. Metal finish is nice and even and the threading is well done.

Let me know if you’re looking for some reloading data.
