ok i got 2 cva 50 cal rifles, both have same problem.
they have sey triggers,
so you #### the hammer, pull the rear trigger wich sets the hair trigger, but when i try to fire this front trigger it clicks, an doesnt fire, it is then back into a standard mode pressure trigger..............
any one know HOW to adjust these set trigger, ? i know about the 2 little screws under the trigger plate,i fer front 1 for rear, seems no effect.
only thing i noticed on 1 gun is that if i loosen the tang screw a lot it seems to work ........even then not consistantly.
help anyone face this before?? any idea what gives?

Try backing off the two screws in your lock plate. common problem with CVA.
Any luck with your parts that you were looking for ?
Cheers nessy.

sear not getting hit by set trigger

Heat the bar on the sear to red hot at the joint and bend it down so the set trigger will hit it when released. Also some adjustment is availalbe on the set trigger to make it come up higer. Take the trigger out and trial and error to see which way to adjust it

ok hate to frig with a part like what you reccomend but thanks

Its a very common adjustment to make to the sear and not a big deal. As long as you heat the part before bending it you will be fine. Only about 15$ if you break the sear.

Bottom line is that the set trigger is either not hitting the sear or not hitting it hard enough because the trigger is too far away. Your choices are to bend the end of the sear down a bit; too much and you cannot #### the rifle. The other choice is to inlet the triggers a trifle deeper.
