CX-storm restricted to un-restricted

I was under the impression that modifying a barrel to be longer than required still meant it was restricted; it had to be factory made that way. I could very well be wrong.

welding flash hiders for barrel length calculations does not work- the CFC only counts the rifled portion of the barrel. ( i believe it may count for overall length of the firearm, but not for the barrel - which has to be over 18.5 inches for a semi centerfire to be non-restricted)

Ellwood Epps will replace the barrel with one over 18.5 inches and re-register it as non-restricted. contact them for pricing. I plan to get one done when I get the scratch together :D - which has to wait unfortunately until I sell a few guns:(

Do it! My non-restricted Storm is the most fun gun in the safe. Woods plinking with an accurate, 10rnd, cheap to shoot (9mm) FTW!!!

Crappy pic but you get the general idea. I'd like to add a flash hider for the LCF but that means shipping it East and, to be honest, 9mm coming out of a 18.5" barrel doesn't have much flash anyway.

:D tnx foggy !!

actually i have no idea if i should curse you or thank you... you just made my wallet over 1grand lighter :D:D;)

Non-Restricted Storms are cool~
JohnC nailed it.

Bits Of Pieces in BC is supposed to make a run of barrels for the CX4 in 9mm... give them a call to see how far off they are.

Is it legal to cut that part connecting the grip and the stock, to separate them? I just thought it might look cool that way.

You have to do some epoxy patching on the grip where the bottom gets cut away. I think they look better uncut. More BSG. Not my gun I found the pic on the net. I can't see any reason this would be a problem in Canada.

Can't see why it would be illegal, but, it would look like ####. What would you do with the shark tail moulding on the right side of the butt stock?

IMHO, the asthetics of the CX4 Storm are just fine. No need to change it at all except for a conversion to .308.:dancingbanana:
