For those with experience with Barry or Elwood Epps CX4 barrels, can you please let me know how well it worked (PM if need be).

If you know of another source, please let me know.

My understanding is that both Barry & Epps will retain the restricted barrel to ensure the carbine remains non-restricted - that right?

Cheers.

whats "epps"? I assume Barry is Bits of Pieces? His barrels are fine. I had two of his going through my hands. The second one is custom order and ended up being on Barry's "hall of fame".

It produces groups close to 1", like 1.1"-1.3" range, I am talking 100 yards. Fit and finish is great, the only drawback is Barry is usually busy and it may take months of waiting. He does retain old barrel, which suck but you only have one rifle anyway.

Epps will give you the original barrel. There is nothing about the barrel that the law could become curious about - it's just a steel pipe, nothing more nothing else. How can a carbine magically become restricted all by itself?

How are the barrels from Epps?

Suppose the government suspects you may thread the barrel back on (yes you could cut the longer barrel down but know better than to interpret gov't thought with common sense).

Epps installs a chrome-moly heavy contour barrel. You can actually take that barrel to your favourite gunsmith and get it coutoured to your liking. Mine shoots Okay, but I can't tell how well it can be, beacuse my particular unit has a problem: it misfires if the trigger is pulled gently. I had to jerk the trigger to get her fire 7 out of 10 rounds, so my groups at 100 yards using a 3x scope with 8 MOA dot for the reticle were size of a dinner plate. She's with Stoeger Canada for the last 2 months and they are waiting for a part.

I have an Epps barrel on my 9mm Storm and with a Bushnell holosight I can hit clays on the backstop at Abbotsford (100m give or take). Rapid fire at 50 meters will put all ten rounds in the A zone on an IPSC target.
