Looking for an optic with magnification (4x?) for CX4. Distance between sights a little short for what I can cannibalize from other rifles - what are your recommendations?

Have a little red dot now which lines up with sights nicely but can use some magnification.

why are u looking for something with magnification? the pistol round out of that wont travel much farther than 100yds, without having to compensate like MAD for the bullet drop!

try a red-dot or holosight like an eotech, itll serve ya well for close quarter and will be a good 100yd and in scope.

heres my old cx4

Colin, the NC Star looks interesting, probably go for mil-dot as a lot less busy.

Chris, am looking for magnification as the non-restricted bull barrel is grouping quite well at closer distances and think can do better at 50 & 100m with it. Besides, cause I want to is reason enough :)

Geeg, cool flash hider  the optic, does it launch RPGs? :) Am trying for something a little sleeker.

Cheers.

Chrisward3,
Does the Eotech you have co-witness with the sights or does it sit above? My 553 sits fairly high. Was thinking of the new mini one for the storm

As for the magnification question. Because some of us have non-restricted bull barrels on our Storms. Would like the magnification for ammo testing, group shooting and maybe even some varminting. 10 rounds, 9mm is fairly inexpensive and should have 100 yard range. It would be a fun alternative to a .22 LR for those closer shots.

I'd avoid Barska and the cheaper brands. Some might be ok, but it's a real gamble. The Barska scopes I've looked through didn't leave a good impression.
