CX4 Storm issue

I just purchased a Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm and really like it so far. My issue is the first time at the range and a full 50 rounds down the pipe and the mag will not come out of the gun. Now it came with two mags and both were used at least twice while shooting the 50 rounds before this issue and neither mag had problems dropping free before this issue.

No matter how hard I press the release or pull the mag it does not budge. On the flip side I can not take the top end off for easier working without the mag removed.

Any ideas?

push the mag in, push the mag catch in and then pull the mag.

Is the bolt open or closed , I had a problem with a Russian tokarev kind of like that in the mag was stuck , some how the slide release slipped under the follower and held it in place , not saying that's the issue , but have a look.

I was able to get the mag out but still need to fully disassemble the gun to figure out the problem. Using a wooden dowel I pushed really hard on the mag release button and the mag came loose. My assumption is that something is not allowing the mag release to fully release the mag. I tried the mag three more times and the same issue each time even with the second mag.
