How much does a CX4 Storm goes for these days?
It seems like everyone is out of stock and i found one here in quebec in a little shop, it's brand new and the guy wants 895$
is it a good deal or i could deal it a bit lower??

Wait for the 9mm bcause its better. Do a google search and the .40s and 45 version have way more problems.

Are you sure he should "hold out", what if no more come? Take a look at what the US export laws are doing to AR15's and then decide if you still want to wait.

thats strange - making decision on caliber based on what mags you have.

And, I think 92fs 9mm Luger magazines are identical dimentionally to 40SW for the same 92fs.

And, 40SW can be re-barreled into 357sig - thats exactly what I am doing with my second Storm. Re-barreling seems inevitable feat for them Storms, think one step ahead.

9mm on the other hand is so light and easy on a firearm that if I had nothing in mind beside paper punching them 9mm's would probably be a good choice.

yes i do like the fact that it's compatible with my 92fs magazines, i don't base my decision only on that but it influences it

the other reasons are i will only be target shooting with it so i don't really care for more power especially form a pistol round (ill buy a carbine in .223 for that)

and finally the re-barrelling is the main reason why i want it and 9mm is cheap to shoot, im a student and i don't make much money so if i want to go plinking with it, the prices form 9mm to .45 make a difference for me

what would be the main advantages in choosing a .40 or .45?

unfortunatly im looking for a 9mm because i have a 92fs already and i like the mags compatibility

Just be aware that some of the latest 9mm CX4 Storms showing up are set up to use the newer PX4 Storm pistol mags. I am not sure if this is in the US only, but you may want to make sure the CX4 Storm you are buying uses the 92F mag.

Please do this and post pics and review when done :)
This was going to be my project for a long time but I gave up (barrels were taking too long to get made).

Anyway, I always thought that a .357sig CX4 storm with hot 90gr loads would be incredible (close to 2000 fps??) :runaway:

 "Hey, why are you shooting at 200m with your Storm?"
 "Because I can"

I got a 40 S&W because I wanted commonality w/ my 96..already tooled up for loading that round and many mags on hand already.

22lr.. are you doing a non resticted barrel or reaming out a stock 9mm one?

Non-restricted of course! Stock barrel is way too thin to fokk with, there is no metal around 9mm chamber to cut into bigger chamber. I have a good heavy 9mm barre for my storm that performed exceptionally well and way overbuilt for 9mm factory loads. So naturally it will evolve into 357 sig and go onto my Storm which is now 40SW. The other Storm that is in 9mm now will get another one of Barry's creations (once he wakes up from hybernation and start machining, that is). That one is going to be 7.62x25. Can't wait. Got dies, brass, powders - just waiting for barrel.

Anyways, hot loads for SIG will be way out of current pistol caliber league. On the average, longer barrel produces 400fps more velocity that those published for same loads shot out from pistol barrel. Say, if published load shows 1200fps it will be over 1600 fps out of my storm. I expect 147grainers to fly out of Storm at 1800 fps with H110 powder. 90 grainers lost my interest, they are fast but very unstable. Say, 9mm bullets are stable beginning from 115-grainers and up. 115 grainers will be flying at 2100fps or close. I am not hot-rodding and using only published loads by the way.

Pictures - I do not know what can you see on them other than same Beretta Storm albeit a bit thicker barrel.

By the way, sorry for hijacking this thread. Any Storm for under 900$ is a good buy. They were cheaper a little while ago but, lets face it, with another 400$ investment one gets beautiful gun that shoots cheap ammo and can be taken for some field work.

Interesting. Which mags are you planning to use with the 7.62x25 conversion? I am not too familiar with this cartridge but I see Marstar has some surplus fairly cheap.
I have a non-restricted CX4 in 9mm now, but have always thought a non-restricted CX4 in .357 Sig would be great.

9mm Storm needs mag well to be removed and tokarev's mags can be fit into pistol grip after adding two aluminium plates on each side. Trigger linkage need to be modified to go around thick and wide magazine, not a big deal but can lead to some frustration tuning everything up after.

9mm Storm cannot be modified into 357 SIG without modifying bolt head and extractor (or replacing it with one from 40SW model) and probably 40SW mag well. They (magazines) probably are identical but I am not sure. Its a lot easier if you already have 40SW Storm - just get custom 357SIG barrel.

Interesting!!! But wouldn't these calibers be hard on the plastic of CX4s??

P.S. NO I am NOT saying plastic guns are bad, I do in fact like them, just curious.

Not planning to try and convert my 9mm Storm, too easy just to re-barrel an .40SW version. Just always thought a Storm in .357 Sig would make a snappy carbine.:)

Let us know how your 7.62x25 conversion works out.

I know for a fact theat Ellwood Epps, will be receiving their new shipment on November 30, tht is when mine comes in, almost all of them are spoken for except 4 and that was 2 weeks ago when I spoke to someone there. Not shure which calibre the remaining ones are. I paid $904, yes $904 don't know why it wasn't $899, but $904 so if you can get it NOW for $895, you are saving $9 bucks and you are getting it right away. Who knows but that shipment that I am waiting on may be delayed (hope not) cause I paid my deposit back in Sept.

the follower is slightly different on 9mm. otherwise they are the same and work well except you wont fit as many .40 in a 9mm mag.
