cx4 storm???????????????

If a person buys a cx4 storm (restricted) from an individual and decides later to buy a longer barrel to make it non-restricted can that person re-resgister it himself, or as to go through a retailer.

Changes of category such as this have to go through a verifier. FRT numbers have exisited for some time now for non-restricted storms.

When I installed a longer barrel on my CX4 I just called the CFC and told them what I had done and I needed to change the classification to non-restricted. The lady I talked to said she would send an email to one of their tech's with the info. About a week or so later I had a new registration certificate with the CX4 classed as non-restricted. I didn't need to go through a verifier. I may have gotten lucky with mine though because it was quite easy.

CFC will verify non-restriced firearms over the phone. it's one of the reasons why the verifiers network was disbanded. I wasn't aware they diri it for a conversion to non-res though...
