CZ 452 22WMRF accuracy

Hi!

What kind of accuracy do you get from your CZ 22 Magnum rifle,
I get around 7/8 of an inch at 100 yds from my CZ 22 LR Varmint
and need an idea what a Magnum could give me (I'll probably buy
the American).

Edit: 7/8" are the best groups I get, not an average...

I had a CZ 452 American in 22 WMR for a while, but was not as happy with it as I was with my 452's in 22LR and 17HMR. It shot very well with one ammo only, and acceptably with a couple more, but overall, I thought it should have done better. [Keeping in mind, the 22 WMR is not as accurate, usually, as is a good 22LR] I sold my CZ in the WMR chambering, kept the CZ's in 17HMR and 22LR, and bought a Ruger [Yes, a Ruger!] 77/22WMR. Now this WMR really shoots! groups at 100 are under 1" with most ammos I have tried, and a couple of offerings are astounding. It hates the Winchester Dynapoints, but other than that, it is a dream to shoot. Another CZ might be better than mine was, but I am just posting my personal experience. I love my other CZ 452's. Remember to keep your WMR and 17HMR rifles reasonably clean. They can open groups up if fouled badly. Regards, Eagleye.
 
Bringing old post back to life. Just bought a 22 mag cz 452. In the process of trying to get some accuracy. Am I expecting to much with like 1-3 inch groups at 100. Should I just site it in at 50 and only expect that from it? I have been using Hornady 30 grainers and just picked up some heavier bullets to try. Any thoughts or suggestions. I don't feel it is more accurate then my two ruger 10-22 rugers. I bought it to get better shots for muskrats and birds.

Should I reclean it with something stronger than just brush and patches.

Bipod then switched to bags. Changed scope. Factory trigger.
I have not done anything yet. I think I am going to do that tomorrow. I will pick up four other types of ammo.

I went shooting and still found the gun terrible. I took gun to gunsmith and he went right through everything and could not tell me what's wrong. Trigger and creep fixed. Some sanding on stock to float.
I am abandoning the gun to shoot as accurate and will sell it. I moved from semi auto .22 lr to get accuracy and I should have done more research. I think from my reviews the 22 wmr round is not known for accuracy. What a waste of different ammo trials.

Went shooting today. The Hornady was only four shots. Each time leaving the rifle cool down before moving on.

Hmm... those are bad and inconsistent results. Some horizontal stringing in the first 2 targets with major vertical stringing on the last target. The rifle should do at least 1 inch at 63 yards with no major wind destroying your groups. It looks like you have made up your mind about this rifle...Hopefully your next rimfire (22lr) will provide you with a better experience.

BUbba300 and I went out today and he brought his torque screw driver. He set the screws to 22 lbs after shooting the gun 5 shots and it was 1.5 inches. The next 5 shots tightened up to .75 inches at 50 yards. Then shot 50 grain ammo and it tightened up to 0.5 at 50. I never would have believed it if I did not do it or see it.
 
Ya it did make quite a difference,but it was about 23 in. lbs where we found the sweet spot we started at 22 ,We should have taken some pics.
Think I will start paying more attention to torqing the action bolts on my rifles.
