CZ 452 American 17 HMR

Just purchased used - weird thing is the receiver says "American" model but the barrel is a "Varmint" model.
Original owner purchased rifle new this way.
My question to the CZ experts: Did CZ make American models with the shorter, heavy barrel?

Nothing weird about it. My 452 Varmint in .17 HMR and .22LR are both marked as 452-2E ZKM American.

Just out of curiosity what year is it? And gloss or flat receiver? I have an american hmr with gloss form '10 and an american 22r from '11 with flat, and a lux with flat from '13 all 452

Ok, thanks for the info. So there is an American Varmint model and an American American model.
I originally assumed that the Varmint model was stamped as that on the receiver.
hometownhero - Mine is a 12 with flat receiver and gloss bolt handle.

I had the same gun, said the same thing. Probably the only gun I honestly regret selling. Shot Hornady 20gr. HPs best. Don't sell it, you have a beauty there.

My 452 Varmint HMR says "American" model on the receiver and nothing on the barrel.

Does the 452 17hmr have the bushing/lug in the barrel like the 22LR "452 varmint" or the tang like the 22lr "452 american"?
