cz 452 disappointing accuracy

Try CCI Minimags or Thunderbolts and use a six o'clock hold on your target.

This what my 455 likes, shot with a 3x9 scope at 50 yards off of front and rear sand bags.

Oh ! shot, sell that rifle to me. It's a really good grouping consider what ammo you are using.

My CZ 452 in .22 WMR love CCI .22 WMR MAXI-MAG .40 Grain.

That bulk stuff is inconsistent. You can hear how inconsistent it is as you're shooting it. CCI Blazer or American Eagle is minimum I would ever use for .22LR ammo. That bulk stuff won't even cycle in my 10/22.

I'm using federal champion

I know it's cheap ammo and I'm going to try some better quality stuff tomorrow.[/QUOTE]

Buy some Lapua SK Standard from Prophet River, if you don't seen an improvement, I will buy the ammo, plus shipping.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but you may consider the YODAVE Trigger Kit for your CZ. I cant make a comment on it, but I've heard/read good things about it.

Ya, try a variety...my CZ loves Winchester T22, but is only so-so with most others.

We hang hard drives and such on the 25 yard line with binder twine...I make it game of cutting the twine after a successful hit by anyone else on a drive. It's really not that hard as you have all the vertical latitude in the world, but it still has earned the nickname of 'Stringcutter' :p

Getting lost in the black can really screw up your groups.
In addition to testing different ammo as already mentioned, I'll share my trick for testing groups:

Use a square black aiming mark. Resting the rifle in a stress-free hold, pick a corner of the aiming mark and align the vertical and horizontal crosshairs just outside the vertical and horizontal edges of the aiming mark so that you can see a consistent hair thin line of white between the aiming mark and both of the crosshairs. Close your eyes. Relax. Exhale. Open your eyes and if you are still in the same spot, touch off the shot.

As an added bonus, if you are grouping well, you can use the same target 4 times this way.

At present it is difficult for anyone to be able to go out and acquire a variety of .22 ammo. The largest local store in our area has zero .22 ammo on the shelf and one of the owners tells me he is shopping all over in an attempt to get some. This is still one of the best recommendations made here though.

For targets I use heavy stock white paper and cut small squares of orange duct tape for markers. I place the vertical reticle of my scope along the right side of the marker. The horizontal reticle is placed along the bottom of the marker. The sights are adjusted to place the shots just outside of the marker where they can be easily seen. Once you have found the best ammo you can adjust the sights to where you want them to be for field use.

I have a CZ452 and my biggest problem is with the trigger. No one locally is qualified to work on triggers or I would turn it over to them. Haven't really bothered since I mostly use the .22 while my centrefire rifle barrels cool down.

As with any .22, you have to try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. Neither the rifle, its sights nor the cost of the ammo make a difference. .22's are just like that.
And like 1ShotKing says, that ain't bad shooting even at just 30 yards. That off hand?
