Hi guys, just looking for a bit of help.

The front hood of my rifle shifts around a bit when I transport it in my bag or when I'm wiping it down. No big deal I can just push it back into place, but I was wondering how do I remove it? I've seen some replacements of the front sight and was thinking about it but couldn't get the thing off.

I looks like it could just slide off but its doesn't. I'm being pretty ginger with it though because the hood seems a bit flimsy and I don't want to damage it.

There is also the larger below the tiny blade adjustment one, does that have anything to do with it? I also find that this screw is extremely difficult to turn and haven't removed it yet.

the front sight hood is removed by sliding it forward out of the groves.there is a detent in each grove to hold it in place.once out of the detents it should slide right out.the screw in the front sight is for adjusting the point of impact.notice the graduation on the front sight block.as you slide the front sight towards the muzzle it gets shorted in relation to the rear sight.which would raise point of impact.I would suggest lightly tapping the hood forward with a non marring punch and a light hammer.

Thanks rembolt, I'll give tapping the hood a try, I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything holding it back.

As for the screw, I think we might be talking about different ones. You're takling about the front sight adjustment, I was trying to remove the one that holds the entire sight in place, its really stuck in there I don't want to damage the screw.

I've attached a picture, you can see that I've tried to unscrew it by the indents from the screwdriver, but the thing is not moving.

Nevermind, I got the screw out. It took a little more effort than I would have liked but the head was really shallow just had to push down hard and give he, lol.
