After hearing so many good reviews on CZ guns ... The local gun store finally got a CZ 452 Lux in stock so I nabbed it for my collection. Have to admit, for the price, the fit and finish on these guns is impressive. Very nice bluing and a Turkish walnut stock. I only ever owned 10/22s, so this seemed like a big step up in quality.

Anyway here's some pics of the first range trip!

Below are a few groups at 50m with the iron sights.

That's decent shooting with irons. My CZ 452 UltraLux is my favourite .22 - it comes to the range every time I go; my 10/22 hasn't been out in over a year.

Nice, I just hope you never need warranty service for it, we're in dire straights in Canada right now between an unsatisfactory warranty center and a parent company that does not properly support it's warranty centers. Basically, when ya buy a CZ these days you have next to no warranty on it.

Particularly revealing is on page 6 where DLASK describes how CZ treated them while they were the acting warranty center.

Beautiful rifle!! Your 10/22 will be a dust collector now. :) I have a BRNO 2E, the predecessor of that rifle. Looks exactly the same. The only 22 rifle I shoot with iron sights.

Not good! Thankfully CZ does make a nice rifle that will hopefully never need any kind of warranty service.

Looks like a keeper. 452 Lux is my second CZ, traded off a 452 THV, felt muzzle heavy. Like the 452 better than my 64 action Anschutz. Frontier still lists some 452 and 453 versions for those interested.

I waited a long time to get a bolt action 22 that good. It shoots better than anything I have had since the 60s. I am left handed and the 452 was available in left hand so I bought one about 6yrs ago and never looked back. There is nothing US made that comes close to fit and finish until you get up into Kimber land. I liked it so much I bought its bigger brother the CZ527 in 223. I wish CZ made the bigger bores in leftie. I would have all CZs if I was able to. I have 2 CZ85 pistols as well. They come with controls on both sides so I dont have to convert back to right hand function when friends want to shoot them. I am a member of a 3000 member club and there is always someone that notices the quality from a distance and comes over to ask about them. The 527 came out as the same weight as the 452. 5.2lbs. These are all "cold dead hands" guns and get taken out to play frequently. Actions like glass. Oddly I got them at Reliable Gun here in Vancouver and ALL the young guys at the counter had 452s. I ordered in the first 527 when they became available and there was quite a bit of excitement when I unboxed it. Money well spent as far as I am concerned and none of them are safe queens. They are a delight to shoot no question. Too bad they discontinued the 452.

Those 527's do look awesome! I seen a 527 carbine in .223 at a gun shop and almost picked it up, but the $1000 price tag was a deterrent for the time haha

Good Day

Congrats on your purchase of a very fine rifle, Denny over at rimfire central might still have some BRNO target aperture sights for that rifle if you were interested.
I have a set on my 452 Lux and I love them, along with a Yo Dave trigger kit.
Again congrats, a fine choice on a rimfire

Take Care
