Just wondering if I can get some idea what's going on with my gun. Bought it used from a member here about a year ago, not a lot of use on it. Have it up north to go hunting with a good friend, and we took some targets with us. Get the target set up, and at 25 yards, it is shooting 3 or 3.5" high with the front sight adjusted all the way back to the rear of the gun, and it is still shooting a good 3" high. Is it possible that the original owner put a different sight on the front of the gun?
I wanted to keep this gun scope less, for my son to learn to shoot, if anyone has an idea on how to achieve this, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Aaron

Edit: So after checking the CZ website, they sell different height front sites. Am just wondering what they measure from, as mine measures .327 total height, but none of the ones on the site are that size.
Guess I'll just have to order the tallest one they have, which is listed at .385" and hope it's tall enough to allow me to get the gun shooting right on at 25 yards.

Where do you have the tangent rear set at?

My 452 has a .327" oal height sight and shoots well

Strange if you ask me, I have it slid all the way to the highest point and it's still 3" high at 25 yards. Am going to have to buy the tallest insert and give it a try.
I'll update how it goes in the next few weeks.

Is the rear sight at its highest point?? That is what you state. The rear sight should be at its lowest point.

Your posts are confusing, first you posted that the sight is all the way back to the rear of the gun, and then you post that it is adjusted to the highest point. The highest point is to the front of it's travel.

I got confused also within all the posts.

Front sight should be slided at the highest point.
Rear sight should be slided at the lowest point.

If it's adjusted that way and still shoots high, a taller front sight is needed.

Wasn't sure the rear sight was adjustable up and down. Will give that a go, saw the screws on either side and assumed they were for windage only.
My front sight is at its highest point when slid towards the rear of the gun. Is that different from yours?

Does the rear sight not look something like this?

Ohhh ok, I can see why the confusion. I had the front sight raised all the way. I was sighting in at 25 yards(with the rear sight set at 25 yards) and was shooting high by 3" with the front sight raised all the way.
