So I'm looking for a .22lr that I can use for offhand plinking with iron sights. I like both the CZ 452 and 455 and I'm trying to make a choice. Thus far I'm leaning towards the 452 (if I can ever find one) simply because it seems to have better iron sights and because the longer barrel (24" vs 20") should allow for more precise aiming. Am I on the money here? I'm assuming TR shooters use 30" barrels for a reason.

On the 452 is the rear iron adjustable on the fly or so you need tools to adjust your range from say 50m to 100m? On the 455 is looks like you need a screw driver to adjust it.

Also, anyone know where I can pick up the 452 Trainer? Same thing as the Lux but the stock is slightly different (cheaper). To me wood is wood so if I can save a few dollars over the Lux then why not.

Thanks!

I went with a CZ455 (an American however) because Lilja offers drop in match grade barrels. It is also nice having the other calibre options. Although I've seen it argued that the 452 is more durable/ accurate due to the threaded barrel and additional locking lug, I can't say that the accuracy of the 455 shows any weaknesses.

hey there, I own a BRNO 2E which is identical to the CZ 452 lux. I would go with the 452, the rear site is adjustable with the push of a button, ranges from 25-200 yds are indicated.

I have the 452 Lux and I highly recommend getting one, it's just fun to shoot. It's very accurate, nice iron sights and as stated easily adjusted 25 to 200 yards.

Ive got a 452 lux and an American. Both are amazing. I prefer my Lux with custom Brno match sights. Both consistently shoot 1/4 to 1/2 in. groups at 50 yrds and 1/2 to 3/4 in. groups using RWS match ammo.

get the 452 if u can find one or a ued Brno model 2e...same gun just a bit older but with better machined parts.

Did you ever find that 452 Lux? I can't find one in .22 lr anywhere!

Regardless I originally wanted a .22 mag, and thank god there are still 452 Lux's around in that calibre. ;)

The sights on the 452 are better by a huge margin IMHO.

Well good luck with your search. LOL

They have been discontinued for some time now......

I literally called every sponsor, and many other gun shops, and not one had the .22lr in stock.

Most said they had them on order, but have been waiting along time, and no ETA.

Seems the 452's are drying up, and the 455's are what we are left with.
