Just wanted to get some expert opinion on a scope for a new cz 452 I picked up in 17hmr. I'm looking to shoot at 100yards in tight circles and test some fun out to 150 yards maybe?

Leaning towards bushnell scopes and the rimfire line of scopes they have. What are your thoughts and what other scopes would you recommend?

Budget is maxed out at 500$ maybe 550$ but doesn't mean I have to spend the full thing.

@ 100 yards, .17cal holes might be hard to see with anything less than about a 14X power...and only if it's OK glass. Granted, you don't have to see the holes while shooting, but I like to. :)

The last scope I bought for a rimfire was for my 452 in .22LR, and I picked-up a Sightron S1, 4-12 HHR with adjustable objective. Got it from CGN sponsor Hirsch Precision, I think it was about $280 but might have crept over the $300 mark. More recently, I picked-up a new Sightron S3 from Prophet River for my .223. Point being..I'm on a bit of a Sightron kick and think they represent the best value for the $ in new scopes. When I had my 452 Varmint in 17HMR, it wore a Bushnell 3200, 4-12 AO with a BKL, CZ mount. Looked great, bolt clearance no problem, just never really loved the scope.

Used in that price range? Personally, I'd be looking for (and AM looking for) one of these used; https://www.burrisoptics.com/scopes...es-series/fullfield-e1-riflescope-4.5-14x42mm I've seen the E1 in a 3x9 and it has nice glass and what I think is a very interesting reticle. I'm interested in it for my new CZ in 17 Hornet, but I think it would be great on an HMR too.

blasphemy!

I have a Leopold 3x9 on m 17 and can see the holes at 100 no issues!

What are you using the gun for can help you out here.

Only target?
Only hunting?

How small are the holes you intend to shoot ? Its uncommon to get a 17hmr to be under 1/2 inch at 100...

at 50 no problem at all!

A 12 or 14 power would be ample magnification.

Use high vis paper if worried.

Such a flat cartridge, i sight in for 50 and slap tree rats out to 125 so far.
