CZ 452 or 455? Regular stock for full stock?

I'm looking at picking up a CZ for target shooting. I've read quite a few posts on CGN about these rifles. Seems like owners are pretty happy with them.

I've seen people post that they would rather have a 452 over a 455...

If I could input from you guys...

1) What is better... the 452 or the 455?

2) Get the regular stock or full stock?

Any other input would be great!

I personally have a few of both but prefer the (mostly) discontinued 452 as I have no use for an easily switched barrel.

As far as the FS vs regular stock, I would say depends. If you are shooting open sights the full stock is great. If you are looking to scope it I would look for a straighter combed "american"

As a side note the full stock looks really cool. :)

You have made a great choice in rimfire rifle!

Hate to say but one isn't enough. HB varmint for paper targets, FS for field targets, Scout cause they're neat, Lux feels a shoots great, Ultra just because. Find a buddy who has a couple and give them a try. Check out Rimfire Central CZ forums, lots of info on the CZ disease.
 
CZ 452 Varmint scoped for paper... 452 Lux if you are going to shoot open sights... 452 FS you are going to be hunting with it (just because it is a cool carry in the woods).
 
One cz can't be done trust me. Need one to wear a scope. One full stock and at least one lux. I like the 452 better then the 455. The 452 feels better to me
 
The 452 versus 455 is an on going saga. There have been many threads about this on Rimfire Central. Conclusion: some like 452s and others 455s. So far, there has been no data presented that would clearly indicate which one is more accurate. I must say that my 455s needed some tweaking to make them shoot as well as my 452s. Whether you get a 452 or a 455 it won't be your last CZ that's pretty much guaranteed! Have fun picking your new rifle and don't forget to show us some pictures once you get it!
PS: If you are planning to shoot paper with open sights only, I would recommend the 452 Ultra Lux (longer barrel that helps with sight alignment) or 452 Lux. If you want to shoot with a scope only than 452/5 Varmint, 452/5 American or 452 Silhouette.
 
Either way, you win. Personally a scoped 455 for me as I have less style than needed for rockin a full stock lux.... But to me, really there are no bad decisions for what you are asking. The right answer is "yes".
 
I bought a CZ 455 22LR Supermatch on the way home from the in-laws during Christmas. Love it, a fantastic shooter. I even bought the 17HMR barrel kit and put it on. The swap took all of about 10 minutes, and even for a "rebarrelled" rifle it'll still pick off the end of a 12ga empty at 100 yards every shot, if i do my part.

I wanted a 455 solely for the reason that I could buy a barrel kit for it and make it another rifle, without spending the money for a whole other rifle. I think I'm going to pick up the 22WMR barrel for it as well so I have my bases covered :p
 
With the changes they made for the 455 I wonder why they didn't fix the backwards safety. In Europe that's fairly common I think, having it reversed like that.

An extension to the left side could be made leaving the right side of it intact very easily but I don't think I'll bother, I'll just use it as is.

I don't usually chamber until I'm ready to shoot anyway.

Another thing is having to release the safety to unload the gun by opening the bolt. Again common, but counterintuitive to me.
 
I prefer the 455 open sights for hunting. I just seem to acquire the target quicker than with the 452 sights. Shooting paper is a different story (I get better results with the 452 tangent sights).
