CZ 452 or 455? Regular stock for full stock?

Hey Guys! Thanks for all the great info! It has cleared up quite a few questions I had! Nice pics!!! I though shooting .22 rifle was supposed to be cheap... lol. I can definitely see myself picking up more than one of these rifles!

I bought a CZ 455 22LR Supermatch on the way home from the in-laws during Christmas. Love it, a fantastic shooter. I even bought the 17HMR barrel kit and put it on. The swap took all of about 10 minutes, and even for a "rebarrelled" rifle it'll still pick off the end of a 12ga empty at 100 yards every shot, if i do my part.

I wanted a 455 solely for the reason that I could buy a barrel kit for it and make it another rifle, without spending the money for a whole other rifle. I think I'm going to pick up the 22WMR barrel for it as well so I have my bases covered :p

Barrel kit????? WHERE?

452 FS if you're shooting it with open sights. The full-stock configuration is beautiful.

Some pics to entice you.

That's a beautiful rifle, Jimbo.

Several things I've always been a sucker for: Full length Mannlicher style stocks, octagon barrels, accurate guns and women with curves!

The 452 versus 455 is an on going saga. There have been many threads about this on Rimfire Central. Conclusion: some like 452s and others 455s. So far, there has been no data presented that would clearly indicate which one is more accurate. I must say that my 455s needed some tweaking to make them shoot as well as my 452s. Whether you get a 452 or a 455 it won't be your last CZ that's pretty much guaranteed! Have fun picking your new rifle and don't forget to show us some pictures once you get it!
PS: If you are planning to shoot paper with open sights only, I would recommend the 452 Ultra Lux (longer barrel that helps with sight alignment) or 452 Lux. If you want to shoot with a scope only than 452/5 Varmint, 452/5 American or 452 Silhouette.

Recommending an Ultra Lux to a new shooter is a pretty tough call, just where the heck is he going to find one for sale?
Most folks that have the full stocked models in 22lr think that this model is their most accurate piece. I have the FS in both 17HMR and 22 as well as a Lux, some Americans and varmints. I find that the 24 inch barreled Lux seldom comes out of the safe and has never been to the gopher patch, where as my FS's always get to come gophering. FS

Agreed with you Fassteel that the Ultra Lux is tough to find. For that and other reasons I recommended 7 different options and not just one. Love my new 452 FS also, it has quickly become one of my most accurate CZs!
BTW a BNIB Ultra Lux just sold on the EE forum about 2 weeks ago. I believe Metalbender picked it up.

Yup, sure did, wants and needs you know. Hasn't been to the pasture yet and snowed last night. Too hard to pick just one so multiple cz's are easy to justify. I always take at least two guns when I go out. The FS does shoot as good as the rest and looks and feels awesome.
