I am debating on what to purchase next a cz 452 or a savage mark 2 BV in 22 LR I basically want it for at the range shooting paper and want the gun that will give me the best groupings. The savage i can get for 300.00 the cz some where around 500.00 Let me know what you think.

The fit and finish of the small parts on the CZ is better than the Savage. I would suggest accuracy is neck and neck, with it depending more on the specific gun, than on which brand. The Savage AccuTrigger is quite easy to tune to get pull under a pound. See this link:

Trigger Job

If you pick Savage go heavy barrel, AccuTrigger, and avoid the plastic tupperware stocks.

I have two CZs the Style and the Varmint, and a Savage MKIIF. They deliver approximately 1.5 to 2 inch groups at 100 meters shooting cheapo Winchester Dynapoints. I have read reviews claiming that MKII_V (bull barrel) models as a little bit more accurate, but my friend's MKIIFV seems to be equal to my MkIIF/CZs.

So practical accuracy on cheap ammo...even.

Now which rifle do I like to look at and caress? The CZs of course. Quality of machining, fit, finish and overall feel is way above the Savage's IMO.

Your money, your call.

I have an assortment of 22 rifles including some CZ's. If you want the best shooting CZ 22 try and find you self one of the full stock or Mannlicher style guns. These are for most folks that own more than 1 CZ their most accurate CZ. My 2nd most accurate is an American that the previous owner bedded.
I had a Savage HB in a pre accutrigger and it was a sweet shooting rifle that my hunting partner in Medicine Hat just had to have, so he has it. FS

I've used an accu-trigger before, how does the CZ's trigger compare? Seems both guns are quite accurate, but the quality of trigger is what'll allow ME to squeeze the most accuracy out.

Which one will shoot better is impossible to say. I will say that a light barrel CZ452 does shoot very well. Buy the one you like best having laid your hands on both.

+1 for the 452. I had a Savage Mk II, traded it for the CZ and haven't looked back!
