I'm looking for a good set of rings for my CZ 452 american and came across the BKL 261, .774 height. Anyone have any experience with these , if not , can you recommend a good setup. Thanx.

You need a fairly high scope ring to clear even a 40mm scope because of the bolt handle position by the ocular lens. I've used Leupold 3/8" rings and they work. Talleys are on my varmint and are a better fit to the rail. Prophet river carries them.

Buy the CZ made 2 piece (ring/base) set up from the gunmaker, they are ridgid and give alot of room in height( comes in 2 heights, medium, high)

Atleast you can move the rings to give different scopes the right eye relief, I have not found any rings made better for this gun! I even use this set up on my Sko Range 22 target rifle! Cheers dale Z

I'd test fit for height before buying. Due to the high bolt handle swing of the CZ's, minimizing bolt handle-to-scope clearance is imperative in achieving a respectable objective-to-barrel gap. IIRC, the rings on my varmint were 0.84, and I'm pretty sure I could shave 0.25 to 0.3 from that and still not hit the scope.

Here is a thread that might give you some ideas as well. I found Talley split steel rings the way to go...

BKL 300, $34 http://www.dlairgun.com/BKL-Mounts.html

Working great so far on my 452 Varmint.

......I should add, the 300 series are for scopes with 30mm tubes, not the more standard 1". They are high, but required for my giant Mueller 8-32x44. If the objective end was bigger than 44, it would look better/be closer to the barrel...but so far, so good.

Another vote for the Talley rings here. Mine fit my 40mm Mueller APV on my American beautifully, the scope is so close to the barrel that I can just slide the objective lens cover on. Oh, and there is also no issue with the bolt throw either, the bolt handle clears the ocular bell nicely.
