CZ 452 Silhouette or Ruger 77/22 Stainless Synthetic?

I'm looking for a 22LR for my son. I want bolt action with mag, iron sights, with dovetail (or equivalent) for scope later. I think I have narrowed it down to these two. Any guidance from those experienced? Accuracy, durability ...?

To balance it out, I love my stainless synthetic 77/22 (got one of the good ones). That said, heard nothing but good things about the CZs, and you can't beat the price.

CZ with the Brooks trigger kit or the ruger with upgraded trigger----$$$$ your choice. I own 2 americans but nothing wrong with the 77/22 as long as the trigger is fixed----Cowboy

Where would you find a Brooks trigger kit? There was another thread that said the CZ Timmney replacement had some troubles. My CZ 452 could use some help.

And if you are going to be shooting metalic sihouette, the CZ is the no-brainer. Its purpose built to metalic specs.

Never tried the CZ, but I really like the 77/22's. Though I'd never get a ss/synth abortion of a rifle

Correct me if I am wrong but I have not seen the CZ452 silhouette with the iron sights he indicated he wanted. In fact I just bought a brand new one and checked many, many places and never saw one that did not have a clean barrel. You may need to get the Lux or the trainer to get open sights along with the dovetail.
