I just got a cz 452 varmint in 22 mag. Only rimfires I have experience with is 22lr and 3 17 hmrs over the years. I just traded my last 17hmr for this nice cz 452 22magnum. What kind of accuracy are you guys getting out of your cz 452 22 magnum rifles? Looks like 22 magnum is supposed to have a fair bit more punch to it than the 17hmr. Hoping I will like this caliber anyway

I can't speak on the CZ 452 varmint model but I did have the lux model and was very accurate for my requirements. Now don't ask me on group size but I hit what I was shooting at and it was very consistent. Made a mistake when I sold it.

You will like the accuracy in your new to you rifle.
I too made the mistake of selling mine in 22Mag. and I hit what ever I was pointing at.
From shot shells on their side/butt end to golf balls out to 100 yrds.
Just CCI ammo from what ever store had it in stock.
I never met a CZ that didnt place a smile on my face.
The .17 is fun too.
It just does not have the thump on the receiving end but it does have spectacular results on small game.

I have the same one as you Mine seems to like the heavier bullets 40 and 50 grainers. for accuracy. I can put 5 shots touching at 50 yards.. been shooting mine at 200 yards. the heavier bullets shoot tighter at that distance than the lighter ones. The cost of ammo is the only downfall of this caliber.

I have a 452 lux in 22wmr.
I've never had a scope on it but shoots very well.
Even got a coyote with it at about 40yrds.

Does it shoot bad groups with 30 grain loads? The 30 grain tnt looks like a really neat hollow point bullet

I have a 452 American and it’s a dandy. However it only shoots federal 50 grainers great. Win and rem 40 are ok lighter is not great.
A good friend has the 452 varmint. That one shoots the light tnt and other 30 grainers great.

Ive got a cz457 american in 22mag… at 50 yards i can group all rounds touching with cci A22 ammo
with other ammo itll open up the groups..
cant find anymore A22 at the local shops which really sucks bad

My 22 WMR is a CZ457 in an American black stock.
Bought on a lark after sighting in a friend's rifle which was the first 22 WMR I ever shot.
His 40 grain bullets were close to an inch so I bought one off the EE.
40 grain bullets would group 4 in an inch at 100 yards with a flyer.
50 grain bullets were about 10 inches low but 4 in an inch and the fifth would make it just over an inch.
Ain't killed nothing with it yet but a handy little tool.
None have ever shown up at our 100 metre matches and this one will not be the first.
