I'm curious, everyone seems to go on about the 452 and wanting it over the 455.

what's wrong with the 455? what does the 452 offer that seems to make it better than the 455?

I'm the opposite, my first CZ was a 455. I haven't found a 452 that was reasonably priced yet that I wanted to buy.
The 455 stock, action and trigger is very good. 455 accuracy for the most part is very good, particularly if you're willing to spend the time to pillar and bed the action into the stock.
Some have had problems with barrel quality and poor accuracy in the 22LR, mine has been good.
CZ warranty is either good or terrible, depending on who you talk to.
In my opinion, they're a lot of rifle for the money.

My experience with CZ is limited to owning 3 models: 452 Varmint, 453 varmint and 455 w/ heavy fluted barrel. The 455 is the only one I still own. The 452V was nice, but never achieved the accuracy I was after. After dozens of attempts at the 1/2" challenge it was sold. I did not like the design that uses one action screw and one barrel screw. The 453V was sold unfired, I just did not care for the set trigger. The 455 is a keeper. I completed the 1/2" callenege with easy using this rile. The 2 action screws and free floating heavy barrel are a superior design in my opinion. No bedding required.

In the other thread people seem to think they are crap but I bought a used 455 Canadian and its capable of under 1/2" @50 with decent club/match ammo. I haven't shot the 1/2" challenge, I probably personally can't shoot 25 in a row that tight, but I'm sure the gun can. The Metal and wood fit / finish is far better then the Savage, Norinco, and Rugers that I've also had.

sorry for making a duplicate thread since there is the other one going on actively. :p

but I get it now...452 is singular barrel while 455 has the option to swap out for other cartridges, albeit at a price that it makes sense to just buy another dedicated gun to that caliber. :)

I don't know that anyone said 455's were crap. The thing is that more people have reported problems with the 455 than with the 452. Of course that doesn't mean that 452's never have problems, and the vast majority of 455's are accurate and reliable.
