Okay guys, I am having a really hard time deciding on my next .22lr to buy. I have ruled out a Ruger, just because I want a tack driver, out of the box.

From what I have researched, any Savage Mark 2 with accutrigger is about the same accuracy as a CZ 452.

Basically, I just want to know if you guys think that it is worth paying the extra $150-$200 more for the CZ rimfire rifle??

I already know that CZ makes a really good quality gun, because I have a 9mm CZ75. I also own a Savage Weather Warrior .300WinMag Rifle, and I am extremely impressed with it also.

Is it worth paying the extra Money for the CZ 452, because the wood stocks don't seem like anything special, or is the CZ quality above and beyond Savage by so much, that it is worth forking over the extra $$$$ ????

Get the CZ. Most of them have fairly plain wood, but it is at least walnut. Expect to pay a lot more if you really want a stock with nice figure.

The Savage .22s are usually accurate, but I think they are cheap and ugly looking.

I have owned a few savage rim fires and I currently have the cz452. The mags with my savages have generally always seated poorly, causing feeding issues. I had to tweak them to sit right. Also the action I found to be not as fine tuned as cz. For accuracy though they are very comparable. Go with your gut! You can always sell it if you're not happy with it.

Get the one you like. A couple hundred bucks more for happiness divided over 20 years or a life time is nothing. I own a CZ 452 and my friends own savages, Stevens and Marlins. All are accurate and we are all happy. :D

I think I will go shoulder a few different models of each, and try to decide for myself if the extra couple hundred $$$ is worth it or not.

Ive a CZ453,thats the single set trigger model.I think its well worth the $$$ plus the CZ will be worth more if you decide to sell it..Just my 2 cents worth

fit and finish is better on the CZ, savage is accurate but quality of workmanship with annoy you over time. really buy the CZ, they seem to be less ammo sensitive also.

Like most have said, get the CZ. What is 150 bucks in the wider scheme of things. That is only 3,000 rounds of .22LR. I used to shoot that much in a couple of months.

Accuracy may be similar, but with the CZ, your pride of ownership is priceless. Fit and finish are not even close.

The savage is a good rifle and a good shooter. The CZ is all of that plus its heirloom quality, you'll pass it on to your kids and maybe your grand kids (if you taught your son how to take care of it!).

The shop where I got my CZ452 (leftie) has about 8 employees and the owner. They ALL own CZ452 or 453. I had them bring in a CZ527 leftie 223 and they had never had one in the shop before. They stock them now. Beautifully made. Makes me smile every time I take it to the range. NEVER a misfire or FTF ever. I have mine set for 100m and it will chew the bullseye out of the target all day long. Yes it costs more but then a Porsche costs more than a Volkswagen. Both essentially the same vehicle but on has the Kool factor and gets chicks. Savages are nice and they are accurate but nobody ogles them when you take them out.

I have a 527 in .223 with the same style of single set trigger. These are excellent triggers that can be easily adjusted for a good trigger pull whether set or unset.
