For you guys that have 452's or experience with them what rings are you using. I was looking at leupold 11mm dovetail rings but a 1" height, med rings as low as they get, has me wondering. I'd like a mount as low as possible without running into bolt problems. Right now I'll be moving my leupold VXIII 3.5-10 X 40mm on it until I buy something else. I don't say I'll be putting a 50mm objective on it anytime soon so 40 should be about max.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've got B-Square Interlock adjustable rings on my 453 Varmint. They're adjustable, so height isn't a given. But I apparently have mine adjusted to approximately the same as some other medium height rings. My bolt handle clears the scope lock ring by 0.25", and I don't bang it while cycling the bolt. Any lower and I probably would, though. I've got a Tasco 6-24x42mm Target/Varmint on there, and it clears the barrel by 0.19" I believe. (I think that's what I got when I measured the other day.)

Hi Osborne, depending on the model of 452 you have it may have a 11mm dovetail or a 3/8" dovetail, I will try to track down the table showing the various 452 models and which has which.

For my 452 I was looking for 11mm Leupold medium rings but couldnt get any locally so I grabbed a set of 3/8s.....I still have not mounted the scope though so I cant say how well it will work out for me.

The problem you'll have with using the incorrect size rings is the angles of the clamping surfaces will be different. I believe it's 60 degrees for the 11mm ones, and 45 degrees for the 3/8" ones. For the most part, the CZ 452s have 11mm mounts. The American has 3/8" ones, and a small number of the other variants. But most are 11mm.

If you have a 452 the ONLY rings you'll want are from

I think they are the best designed thing going.

Worth every penny.
