Cz 452

The mount from egw looks just like that rail and seems to work good allowing a large objective scope with low rings and it also gives you more options for things such as 30mm tube scopes and windage adjustable rings not commonly found in rfire rings

I'm running J&P adapters with Burris Signature Zee rings. Works very nicely and its lower profile than the railed bases. I'm tempted to machine the adapters down to just fit under the rings, would look even better.

How do you find your scope height with those bases and rings?

I used a B-Square 3/8" to Weaver adapter on a Squires Bingham before, but I found it raised the scope height a bit.

That is one of the reasons I never went with it on my CZ's when I bought them.

However, they do allow for any style of Weaver rings to be used and they clamp down securely.

I suppose with some really low rings they might be the same height as my BKL rings.

I just wanted to keep everything simple, clean and low.

Running High rings with a Weaver V16. I think I'd go mediums next time (or I might trade them). The intent is to shoot silhouette and I think with a dedicated stock it would be perfect, with the American stock its just a little high.

Thanks!

Yeah, that American stock could stand to be a bit higher in the comb.

You could always try and find out if Klinsky makes a stock for the 452 American.

Brnomann in the States used to import them for the 452 Lux and he's great to deal with.

That is one ###y rifle.

That said, I have a 452FS, and I manage to go back and forth between by BRNO iron sights (from brnoman) and my scope without too much trouble with zero. I always put them in the same spot, and its just one or two clicks to a perfect zero again. My glass has BKL rings on it, and they are great.

It certainly is, but it isn't mine. It's just a picture I shamelessly stole from the internet.:)

I'm glad you can get your scope on and off without too much trouble.

I still wish CZ rifles had Weaver rails integral to the receiver.

It would make things so much easier.

They would run out of stock if that was the case.
The amount of time and effort I put into my CZ 452 American
over these dang dovetails.......jeesh.
Trying to find something that would fit and then to garner the
proper clearances.
As it is, I have a cheap set of Fitco rings on there that seem
to work the best so far.
One day I will own a proper set of CZ rings, but man oh man,
the new words I have created.........;)

...this begs the question "why not?"

It may be bad form to quote my own question, but as there was no answer to it, I might as well expand on it:

11mm dovetails (ie, those milled in most 452 rifles, except the American) are not in any way untrustworthy or "odd." They just happen to be one "standard," used extensively in European firearms.

11mm dovetails have 60 degree angle cut. Ergo, do NOT try to use 3/8" or "one-size-fits-all" ringmounts on 11mm dovetails. (You would not put standard imperial lugnuts on you car's metric standard wheel bolts, would you?)

The QD mount on my 12 gauge combo gun's 11mm dovetail is solid as a rock. But the mount is not junk. As for my 452s, I use Leupold 11mm high ringmounts. I'm sure there are other good 11mm mounts available as well, but I know these worked for me.

On my 452 American I settled on the 13 mm Leupoold Ring Mounts. The measurement across the top of the dove tail is 13 mm.

Now that is a flawless fit. It is medium height, and the scope now is a Rifleman 4 - 12 x 40.

Who stocks J&P adapters in Canada?
