I own a new CZ 453 varmint. It doesn’t have the set trigger, and when I went on line to learn how to adjust the trigger it showed me three adjustment screws. Well imagine my surprise when I took the gun apart only to find there was only an adjustment nut and spring.

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the trigger with this set up? Maybe I have a set trigger and don't know it?

Thanks for all responses.

Ian

I have never seen a cz set trigger up close, however what you are describing sounds like a standard cz trigger. There is little to no adjustment using the nut. An unmodified cz trigger is absolute garbage. They can be made liveable with a spring swap although this does nothing for the creep. I would recommend a yodave kit or one from rifle basix. Stay away from Timney.

Why?

I also have never seen a 453 without the set trigger. Maybe you have a 452 Varmint. Same as 453 but without the set trigger. The CZ trigger is ok but the YoDave kit is easy to install and makes the trigger buttery smooth. All for 15-20 bucks.

Ya, just looking closer and I jumped the gun (pardon the pun.) It is the 452 Varmint, with no set trigger. Thanks for the info. A new trigger kit it is.

1. You have to hog out a GREAT deal of stock material to get it to fit in the first place.

2. It is only capable of going down to 2lbs, which isn't low enough for a custom trigger IMO.

3. It comes prelubed in order to get down to 2lb's. If you clean it, it only goes down to about 5 lb's and you have to lightly lube the sear surfaces again. (you shouldn't ever have to lube a trigger)

4. It is inconsistent

5. It is expensive, especially considering what you get.

Maybe I got a lemon, but by all accounts on rimfire central it sounds like they are all like this.
