Cz 455 American scope questions

3/8" dovetails are useless!

The majority of CZ 452's sold are undoubtedly the American model and they all, regardless of caliber have 3/8" dovetails. The 453 American also has them as do 452/453 Varmints and Full Stocks in .22WMR and .17HMR. There are many rings available that work very, very well with the 3/8" dovetails on CZ rimfire rifles. I have a CZ 452 American and find the dovetails work very well.

Thank you all for your replies. I went to my lgs today and ended up buying a Nikon prostaff rimfire 3-9x40 with the bdc reticle for 189 dollars, I happened to find a set of rings in my parts bin that seem to work until I order a different set. I am going shooting tomorrow so I will post pics of some targets. Thanks for all your help everyone! Enjoy the long weekend!

I'd like to see a pic from the rear of the dovetail to see how well they mate.

Well I finally got the 455 out to the range today! It was a nice day but it was really windy, 34 km/h with 54km/h gusts. I set up at 50m anyway and my best group was .412" ( average of best 5 was .581") 20170521_212515_resized.jpg
If there was less wind I think I could have shot a lot better, I'll try again this week. I was shooting Winchester 555 and federal auto match (this stuff worked the best)20170521_212500_resized.jpg

djosselyn311, I like to compare my shot targets with the one that came from the factory.
I am far from an expert, but I like to be as close or closer to what the gun shot out of the factory.
Instills a bit more confidence and when shooting gopher sized targets I may apply some Kentucky Windage or Elevation .
Shooting paper is another whole sport and 34 gusting 54 kmh winds does not add to the in which these guns will shoot ;)
How did you find the trigger, notice any creep , was the trigger heavy ?
Tight Groups and Thanks for keeping us posted.
Try some Stingers for chits and giggles when you find something the 455 likes, just for reference and informational purposes too.

I finally got mine out to the range on Saturday. Once sighted in, I was getting very similar groupings to yours. I also had my Savage Mk II BTVSS with me to sight in with a new scope, so I had lots of work to do. Both guns were producing similar groupings but I ran out of time, so I didn't take pictures or measurements. I pulled the targets, but I can't remember which goes with which gun. Lol. Maybe next time. Overall however, I really like how the CZ shoots. Which gun is better? Hard to say at this point. Groupings are similar, they both cycle nice and smooth. Both triggers feel good. I'm gonna have to do more shooting before I make that call.

The factory "target" is produced as a test of function, that it works. It is not a test or indication of accuracy.

There was a poll done recently on rimfire central asking how your factory 455 preformed at 50 yards with ammo it liked,The average was around .5 inches. I loved how my cz shot too, but I am not surprised that your Savage is comparable. I personally love the acutrigger on my model 10. Where did you get your BKL 257s? The rings that I have now work but they are ugly!

My factory target had quite a large group for 50 yards. I remember thinking " I hope I can get it to perform better than that"

The trigger was fairly decent, it did have a little bit of creep but I should be getting my Yodave kit in the mail tomorrow.

My range buddy said he had some stingers left over from when he had his .22 so I planned on giving them a try. Hopefully it likes them!

I ordered the BKL rings direct from their website. Even with shipping they were cheaper than Talley, or Burris rings. If you're thinking about getting some, then definitely give them a try. They are VERY nice rings. They look and feel like very high quality pieces and are made in USA. As for the accuracy of my .22s, I assume that I will get better results in the future. I've heard some negative comments about Savages, but I really do like the way mine shoots.

Obviously, if I have to explain.
You simply will not understand.
Rob

CZ rifles are shipped with a factory "test" target to indicate function, nothing more. Obviously there is no other explanation, is there? If there is, please try your powers of explanation. I'm sure I would appreciate it, as would everyone else.

First off the 455 is shipped with fit and function target.
Previously they where confirmation, but I digress.
Best Regards,
Rob
