cz 455 build

Just received an e mail from Bob Richards, I think this is the direction I will go:

Levi,
#
$540 landed to your door (unless the exchange rate goes lower…), if you send a $100 deposit (preferably via EMT) I will place the order and if they have it in stock – you will have it 3 weeks later. If not, these take ~2 months to build and then 3 weeks for shipping.
Cheers,
Bob Richards

Damn you man !!! Now you got me thinking about doing something like this lol. Any plans on where to get the stock form?

I think I'll go with a manners stock, I really want the black and grey gap camo and manners no longer does custom painting in house. Once the stock is finished they will ship it to http://www.customguncoatings.com/ for painting. I confirmed with Branden from CGC that he will ship to Canada. Cost for the camo job is $110.00 this is the image he sent me - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...41826.137004753103442&type=1&relevant_count=1
I think it will look good with the stainless Lilja barrel.

McMillan also has a couple stocks for the 455 they will ship to Canada.

There was a thread I was looking at on snipers hide with cz455 builds in manners stocks they looked really slick

Edit:
Here is the thread

The 455 was waiting in the post office today. I must say when I opened the box I was a little disappointed. I was expecting the forest laminate stock with a fluted bull barrel, but instead it had the brown laminate varmint with no fluting. Not a big deal seeing as a new stock and barrel are going on anyway.

I can see now why guys complain about the cz triggers. I have a dip adjustable sear as well as a yodave kit on its way. Using one of the yodave springs, I'll compare the yodave shims to the dip sear and see which feels better. The left over I can use on the lux I plan on picking up later on. I'll post more on the trigger job when everything shows up.

The deposit is going in to get the lilja barrel ordered tomorrow, and I can't for the life of me make up my mind on a stock. I'm torn and keep going back and forth between a Manners or McMillan. I need to just hurry up and order one and be done with it. Which would you guys pick if you had the choice?

Nice color on the paint job you picked!

That is a sweet looking stock, though I would imagine its a little over my price range. With all this stuff showing up in the mail, the wife is starting to ask questions.

First you need to apply for an international import certificate. This can be done At https://www.excol-ceed.gc.ca/Main-P..._DeclarationRenseignementsPersonel.aspx?t=IIC

Hit accept and fill out all of the information required. There is no cost for this, once everything is complete. Submit the form. In my experience, you should get a copy of the IIC sent to the email you used in about 2 business days. Once you receive this, send it to Lilja and they will take it from there to apply for an export permit. ( there should also be no cost for this, however, some companies will charge a small fee. Once they receive the export permit, they will send the item. Generally, if these companies send via UPS or FedEx, they will have you prefer pay the brokerage. In my experience, shipping is between 30-40. You will pay tax on the item but no duties as it will fall under NAFTA.

I have only done this once and this was the process I used. For me, the turn around time was very fast and I had my item in less than 3 weeks. This can vary basted mostly on the export certificate. If you have any other questions, I will try to answer. Lilja should also be able to field and questions you have as I'm sure they export quite frequently.

Thanks

25 moa rail, aluminum mag box and extended mag release arrived in the mail today. I can say I'm happy with the DIP scope mount. It needed a little persuading to slide on, but its better than a sloppy fit.

The extended mag release feels better with my sausage fingers but it isn't so long that it looks goofy or out of place. The mag box is nothing special, just more durable I guess a lot of guys had theirs brake during take down.

Range report for 17 gr cci and hornady coming this weekend. I'll put 100 or so rounds through before installing the dip sear and yodave kit. The lilja .22 barrel should be here some time in march, and the McMillan is to long to even think about yet (about 5 1/2 months left). I am finding that a thumb hole stock is not all that comfortable for me. If anyone wants to trade me for a regular varmint stock I would be happy to if its in good shape.

When I received my 452 the trigger was terrible. Took the rifle to my gunsmith to upgrade the trigger and he told me he could make the trigger nice. I asked him if he could make it a two pounder. Long story short, cost me fifty bucks for smooth as butter trigger. I took my wife's .22 in for the same treatment only in three pounds. He says that CZ actually has a very nice trigger. I agree.

Could just have spent $15 on the yodave kit and done it in 5 min and got it down to ounces if you wanted.
