I removed the screw holding the front sight and it seemed firmly attached yet, did they possibly use some adhesive? I`m using a scope and had to remove the rear sight and think it would look better with the large front sight off as well.
Im having the same issue with the rear sights on a cz 455 lux. Screws have been removed, but rear sight is not going any here. Any one have a suggestion?
Tried a rubber mallet, but as afraid the sight may be recessed into a dove tail of some sort. Guess i'll have to pound harder Any idea why they would do this?
My CZ527 carbine's front sight ramp was the same way. It's glued on. Remove screw and give it a light tap with a plastic or brass hammer (rubber won't do as it needs a sharp rap to be effective). It'll come right off.
I then cleaned the glue residue with a plastic scraper so it could be reinstalled at a later date.
Oh BTW...you may find the bluing on the barrel under the ramp less than perfect.
Reason I did this was cause my rear sight interfered with my scope even with the tall rings. Unfortunately the only combo 455 22lr/22mag was the Lux model which comes with the sights installed.
Cool to hear the experiences of taking it off, I have always wondered.
I've had 3 different scoped on my 455 and now I have a huge varmint on top, and I cannot perceive the front sight at all on any scope. fixed 4x, 3x9x40 and now 6-24x
I have myself thought about taking it off, but I like the look with it on
