CZ 455 Varmint Evolution Stock vs Thumbhole Stock

At 100 yards and beyond, ammo quality is the most important thing. 200 yard accuracy will be a joke no matter what you use. Whatever stock is more comfortable for you, they'll both serve you well.

I have both , they both work well on a bag . The Evolution doesn't have sling studs , if you want to take
it out for a walk in the woods . About one inch groups at 100 yds with good ammo . I don't shoot my
455's at 200 yds .

I tried both and ended up going with the thumbhole stock. I really wanted to like the evolution stock more. I went with the thumbhole stock Mostly because the evolution does not have the sling studs. Also, I found it fit me a bit better. I ended up putting a bipod on mine - I haven't shot it much at 200 yards but the bit of shooting I did with it - it worked well - with CCI SV rounds I could see the bullet really start dropping at that distance.

while i love shooting thumbhole stocks you have to be mindful that they kinda restrict any resale.
case in point, my dad is on a thumbhole stock fetish right now and has swapped over probably a dozen guns to them.
im his only son that shoots and will some day inherit all his guns.
i will have to either replace all those stocks or sell the guns as im a left handed shooter so the right handed thumbhole guns are useless to me.
my only complaint about thumbhole stocks.

but they are super comfy!

personally i find the taticool stocks better for bench shooting.
bit bigger, bit fatter.

Yes, for bench shooting the Boyds Pro Varmint (it used to be called the Tacticool) is much better.

Another thing to note about the TH Boyds stock is that it does not fit a larger hand very well.
