I saw a post on another forum and one member suggested that the 455 varmint only was available in Canada in the thumbhole stock. Now I know that isn't entirely true because a dealer on here has one with a Boyd's evolution stock forsale . But I haven't found one with a "normal" varmint style stock for sale . Are these available in Canada ? I am a left hand shooter who shoots right hand bolt rifles so the thumbhole won't work and I dislike the evolution stocks

Buddy of mine has had a left-handed 452 American for years. Shoots very well. I wouldn't overlook them.

And, yes, you should be able to get anything you see here in Canada. http://www.cz-usa.com/products/by-category/rifles/

Thanks for the reply , I haven't counted out the 452 but would likely pay the extra for the 453 . And I have seen a few left hands available but I honestly perfer the right hand ones since I shoot mostly prone from a bipod .also I have checked out cz USA a few times but I don't see the 455 varmint thumbhole on there and I have yet to see a 455 varmint in a non thumbhole style stock forsale in canada .
Anyone know if they are out there?

My observation is that a few were available for a limited time (I bought one at that time and saw a few others listed for sale), but availability has since seemed quite low. They are out there, just keep looking.

the 455 American (straight stock, no sights) and Lux (hogsback stock, with sights) are available from prophet river among others.

The 455 is the way of the future and has several improvements over the 452 including the ability to change calibers later on. I don't think it makes much sense to buy a 452 unless it is as a great price.
