Hi everyone!

I have posted my progress with the new vpt on rimfire central but I thought I would post on here. In February I emailed a rifle importer and asked if he could find me a cz 455 vpt 20" with manners stock. He got back to me the next day and said he found one. I then waited 3 months and it finally arrived. In the mean time I purchased all the dip parts to replace the plastic pieces, sear, 25 moa rail, and adjustable sear. For optics a sightron s3 10-50x60. It was between this and a golden eagle but I went with the sightron because of its reputation. Nothing against the golden eagle cause I looked through it and it was very nice. I also ordered a atlasworx bottom metal. The bottom metal ended up not fitting properly. I tried to modify it to fit but it wasn't going to work. I contacted atlas about this and to my amazement they are making a new batch with new dimensions and will be sending me a replacement. Talk about great customer service! I also had to ditch the adjustable sear cause the bolt catch dimensions did not work with my rifle. It kept getting stuck every time I tried to rack a round or the bolt would just pull straight out. I put the stock sear on it and wish I never took it off cause it runs flawlessly and has zero creep. Future note check stock sear before replacing it.

My first outing I tried some different ammo just to see what I was working with and I was not happy. I know I needed to get some rounds through it to polish up the bore but still expected decent results. I then proceeded to put a 1000 rounds through it to make sure it was fully polished and if there were little burrs in the chamber lead then they would hopefully be knocked out. Nothing was getting better. At this point I am completely bummed out cause I waited a long time for this plus it was not cheap getting this here. I had some great advice from a member on here and decided to get the rifle looked at by my local gunsmith for known issues with the cz. The gun smith looked at it and everything looked great except for a terrible crown. Not concentric, chatter and basically might as well been done with a die grinder! okay not that bad but bad. He re cut the crown and told me to go shoot it before we consider doing anything else. He cut 11 degrees, recessed it and finished with 11 degrees again. I may get it changed to straight 11 degrees but I am not sure I want to mess with a good thing. I should also mention that I took the rifle in and got a call 2 hours later to pick it up. Crazy good service. If i took it to my other local gun store I might as well kiss it goodbye for the summer.

Today I got to put some rounds through it but got interrupted by damn rain. I only had eley sport with me so decent ammo but there is much better options. I should mention all shots are at 50 yards so far. So my first 5 shots were dead nuts. To say I was happy at this point was an understatement. I then proceeded to shoot some more groups but that is when I got rained out so didn't get to finish. I cant wait to try some better ammo! You will see this rifle very shortly on the 50 yard challenge list. Pics are in order of past to present. 2 pics of crown before and after shooting with it. Targets after crown are from today. I will update this as things improve.

I have a lot more work to do to get it to where I want. I want to do each thing to it one at a time though to make sure something doesn't set me back. So far my first dive into a cz has been interesting. I have learned a ton. Some parts I bought didn't work out so a little money lost but as of today everything has been worth the experience. That is part of what I enjoy about rifles. If I wanted a rifle that would shoot amazing out of the box I would have to spend a ton more for one thing but I would probably get bored very fast cause I wouldn't be able to tinker!

The newer results look very good. It's obvious why you're pleased. The rifle looks terrific as does the new crown.
Great detail in the post (but next time use paragraphs to make it easier to follow and read).

Good write up, for those trying to avoid the block... (correct me if im wrong)

Order rifle,
Replace sear, then put stock back in.
Changed all internals with DIP parts (can you make a list?)
Re crowned
Re chamberd
Sightron optic ontop

Can you give a list of mods done to stock rifle and an aprox cost of each ? If you are ok with that.

Here is the proper order and paragraphs added. Sorry about that
