CZ 455 vs. Savage Mark II vs. any other suggestions?

Thanks again for all the responses so far. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of the 455, but those wedges cut out of the barrel are what have kept me from buying one up to this point. How thin is the barrel at the deepest points of the cutouts? Are there any concerns about durability/rigidity of the setup because of the cutouts?




How much did the extra barrel cost you?

No concern for me with the cutouts. I am sure that they spent millions on r & d for this set up.

Not sure on the cost of the barrel I had picked up a 455 and extra barrel combo from prophet river but there was a small misunderstanding in the matter. I think they sell them with the extra barrel for 599
