I have a 10-round metal magazine that's basically brand new but it just won't feed properly.
The bullet side would not rise properly and it gets really hard to put in additional rounds after putting 5-6 rounds in the magazine.

I took it apart and reassembled it according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09t9XXSwjYQ
Still won't work.

I'm tempted to return it but the store I got it from is about an hour's drive. It would be really nice if I could fix it.

Has anyone seen this issue before? If so, how should I fix this?

Appreciate the help in advance!

[EDIT] Problem solved. I reversed the follower and it worked.
Not sure if it was backward out of the box (someone said this was their issue on youtube). But I definitely installed it wrong when assembling it.
Make sure the larger plate (the side of the follower that "grows" larger) stays in the front when putting the follower back while assembling it, so that you don't embarrass yourself by asking a noob question here as I did...

Glad it was an easy fix, must've been a Monday morning production run! CZ mags are usually very reliable, to the point that there was one US gunsmith modifying Anschütz rifles to accept CZ mags.

I have three CZ plastic 10rd magazines. The first two, bought at the same time, had issues from the factory. One had the backwards follower like yours, the other had two followers installed. The third was functioning properly as it should, right from the package. As good as CZ is, these are still human assembled parts and they do make mistakes. Thankfully this one is easier to correct than some other issues.

CZ magazines are indeed typically quite reliable. If that US gunsmith was former RFC poster djdilliodon (Don Smith), who retired a few years ago, his modications were not a frequent thing, perhaps only for a single rifle.
