Hi all

I am about to pull the plug on a CZ 457, I am not decided between the AT-ONE stock vs MDT-XRS. What do you guys recommend? I will mostly shoot bench rest. Also I would like to eventually go up to 200yds being mostly 50 or 100 yds, having said that, would you recommend 20” or 24” barrel?
Thanks!
JM

XRS as the action is in aluminum and more options for arca rail.

20" as I assume you are not shooting open sights and you will get more velocity. Would also go with a varmint barrel to reduce overheating.

I have the Boyd's AT-One 457 and the stock isn't the same as an actual Boyd's AT-One stock. Its like as if CZ bought the hardware from Boyd's but then installed it into their own laminated stocks because the Boyd's AT-One stocks I've felt feel like crap while this CZ stock feels way better. Or Boyd's is building the stock to CZ's specification that they want for the rifle. Still, Id vote for the XRS simply because the muzzle threads on the XRS are 1/2x28 while the Boyd's AT-One is 1/2x20. Good luck finding accessories for the 1/2x20 but the 1/2x28 you can find anything you want to attach to that muzzle. Barrel tuner, flash hider for the looks, oil filter adapter.

know a guy that had the at-one stock version, didnt like it and replaced the stock.

I have the xrs and love it. In fact 1 have 2 rifles with xrs chassis.

Well I buck the trend.

I’m sure in every practical way the XRS is the way to go. Especially for the bench and such.

But for ME I prefer the At One (I purchased two of them myself). They are not exactly bolt on I find a bit of time with some sandpaper and some patients makes them a wonderful choice and I really find them to work well for me. I just prefer the more traditional looks of wood and steel.

I bought the AT-One figuring it would suit me, as I need longer stocks, but, it didn't suit me on the scope mount height and cheekpiece combo, had to add a riser, and I probably could add the longer adj buttplate setup. Good gun, will just take some more mods yet, for me.

I have one in the XRS and I can tell you without exaggeration that it shoots as well as any other gun at the range.
That includes some 22's that are well over 3000$.
loots effing amazing too.

I ended up buying a 457 with the XRS chassis, haven't tried yet, still waiting for parts to complete the build, but it seems to be a very nice and confortable chassis
