CZ 457 Canadian Load Development

The Federal Match was given to me in a plastic baggie from a friend. Not sure which one. The Federal Target is regular velocity. The CCI Standard as the plastic 100.

I will be doing many more test. This was just to see where I should start.

I would start with better ammo, SK standard/CCI standard are usually the basic cheap ammo that most people start with... try a box of Lapuau Centere-X, 'SK, RWS or ELEY' 'Match'.

Unfortunately there isn’t a store nearby that has lapua. I would need to pay shipping to get it. Not worth it for plinking purposes right now.

I went out today and tried Winchester Super X, CCI high Velocity and CCI standard velocity

The CCI standard velocity was by far the most consistent the for me In The 457 American. I forgot my calipers so you will have to use the .22 shell for comparison. I am not a pro shooter, and this is my first “accurate” .22, so I am more than happy

5 shot group at 25 yards, front rest only.

8 shot group at 50 yards, front rest only.

I ran a test of many of the cheaper options that Tenda had in stock.

The SK Plus (yellow box) and the CCI Stnd vel have been the best in 3 different rifles.

CCI Stnd is the cheapest, and probably the most available.

10 shot groups Ruger 10/22 Target Rifle

I definitely liked the initial results of the CCI standard.
