I just bought two CZ457 10 round metal mags, both seem to have an issue with ammo not feeding. Has anyone here experienced this?

i got 1 metal 10rd with my 455, pretty sure same mags, Had issues with random mags last round would pop straight up and stovepipe when trying to chamber. Have no probs with plastic 5/10s.

I have a couple of steel 10 round mags, and they both work ok with most ammo, but some ammo would not feed... I have issues with CCI SV ammo for example, but no issues with Norma.

Robak, is there a good reason you chose metal over ploy ? I only have One metal and 7 poly - guess which one sits out the games.

Could never get metal mags to work consistently. Both of the ones I have will fail to feed 2-3 rounds. Tried cleaning, polishing the follower... nothing worked.

22lr Poly mags have been 100% reliable for me.

It may not help in all cases, but I found that if I took off the magwell and reassembled the receiver with the mag in place to help align it, it would solve some of these misfeeds. There is a wee bit of play in the magwell mounting.
Also find one mag that works and slightly alter the other feed lips to as good a match as you can get. Obvious, I know.

Some CZ mags get assembled incorrectly, with the follower reversed front-to-rear. I've had two of these. If you disassemble a metal mag make sure you don't lose the spring and retainer that keeps the bottom plate on.

Mystery solved, thank you! These things are allergic to CCI SVs but feed SK and Eley ammo flawlessly

Definitely worth checking this. I've had a 5rd and 10rd poly mag that came assembled with the follower backwards straight from the package

I currently have 12 cz mags, 6 are 10 rounds and 6 are 5 round. They are a mix of metal and poly with no issues of any kind with either type. These mags get used in a variety of rifles from BRNO #1, CZ 452, 455 and 457.

are the side walls pressed in too much? It can catch and bind the follower if so.
^was going to ask the same, I had a 10rd. or two that once had this issue. Close the bolt/feel nothing, look in the mag and the follower is jammed, round flopping around. As someone else mentioned, not an issue I've ever found with polymer mags.
