CZ 457 MTR Match stock /barrel Question..?

What size is the OEM barrel on the MTR ?
And what have people been able to squeeze into the channel without too much stock removal. Ref aftermarket rimfire barrels .

Hi Levi

The MTR CZ457 barrel is a straight cylinder 0.866" in diameter. Mine came with the 20.5" long barrel. I recently replaced the original barrel with a 21" long 0.900" dia. straight cylinder Lilja barrel. Didn't have to remove any material from the stock to keep the barrel free-floating.

I had the same experience as jdac with a Lilja barrel in that it fits the barrel channel without issue If swapping to a Lilja, don't count on significant improvement over the factory MTR barrel without some modifications. For a better chance at improving results, the rifle should be epoxy and pillar bedded. There may be room to improve ignition by reshaping the striker.

You didn't find a significant improvement over the stock barrel ?
I know that my MTR certainly doesn't need re-barreling .
