Have a 457 MTR (in .17HMR, incredible) and a 457 Canadian in 22 WMR. They're both in MDT stocks now, triggers, nice optics, Lilja/IBI barrels, etc. Both are a joy to shoot. The 457 is simply an excellent series.
No, 10 different rifles that do the same thing. I mean, if your ability to survive and put food on the table depended on hunting then yes, I'd want a gun for each purpose: deer, small game, predator defense, etc. and backups too. Hell, for ammo, parts, and tool availability, maybe it makes sense to have two identical rifles as opposed to two different rifles
My Annie is for small game, pests, and any other time I want to make precise shots. I had a Marlin 795 that I wish I had never sold for plinking. They were both 22's, but they filled very different niches.
I could even see buying a couple of the same gun for different purposes: 457s set up for walkabout hunting, rimfire silhouette, and varminting perhaps. But several identical rifles where the only difference is sporter stock or full stock? Not my bag. Others spend their money how they see fit. I choose another path and if we are both happy, neither of us is wrong.

^10 different rifles meaning what....10 x .22LR rifles? By that logic, is having more than 1 x 22LR rifle weird? Don't think you'll find many guys in the rimfire forum that share THAT view.
Thanks for chiming in. I think I'm inclined like kjohn, but my pragmatic side struggles with the idea. Never loved the idea of having more than 1 CZ bolt action for the longest time so I sold one. Then saw one I couldn't live without and I'm back to 2. lol I kind of agree with application/duplication and (partially) justify it that way. One varmint-weight gun with a higher magnification scope.....one smaller/shorter/lighter gun with a lower magnification scope. Used to think; "the more the merrier" and found myself with more than a few that never got used. In a good place now, all bolt guns with one semi back on the list.
Those 457's are some nice rifles. Don't own one yet, I'm still holding out for some limited edition or perhaps full stock model *cough, cough CZ* but I've got a 452 and a 455 FS. Don't think I'll ever let those go unless it's to my kids. Also, have a few BRNO rimfires: semi and bolt. Rimfire's and also CZ rifles are little bit like Pringles, you can't just have one.
I took my new 457 to our little indoor range this afternoon. After a few shots to dial in the scope, it shot well with Federal Target or whatever they are called. The range is only 50 feet, so getting it out on the gopher fields will tell the tale. Found out I have to use my friggin' reading glasses to get a clear picture of the target. Oh well, at least I am still above ground!

Recently won a CZ457 in a raffle put on by Stitsville Shooting Range at our recent ORPS match. Pooched the shoot big time but still had a lot of fun like we always do and then found out Id lucked out and won the gun in the draw. So of course I dont need it because I have a Vudoo and custom built Kidd/VQ semi. Can we ever really have too many guns? Me thinks hell no! Now need to get a sloped rail, scope, etc so winning ends up costing but provides entertainment and fun.
