CZ 457 Varmint 22 LR

CCI SV is generally considered entry-level target ammo found at a reasonable cost for those just starting out in precision rimfire. As such, it's a useful benchmark to know before moving up the ammo ladder to higher-tier offerings to find what your gun shoots best.

How does the Pro Varmint do with CCI SV at 50yds?

My results were poor with CCI SV - I hope its because the barrel is not broke in yet??
I did four - 5 shot groups: .967 1.118 .824 1.237 Average of: 1.037"
There was zero wind and all from the same lot - which could be the cause as well although........
My CZ 453 averaged .701 (five - 5 shot groups)
My Tikka T1X averaged .516 (five - 5 shot groups) same lot as Pro Varmint results.
Lets call it barrel break in :)
Or shooter error :-(

you got to season the barrel - after 2800 rounds (Mark II) I can get 10 shot groups covered by a loonie at 50 yards some groups I can cover with a Cdn quarter if it wasn't for the one or two that ruin the group.

I have a CZ 457 Varmint in .22LR.

I’ve had it about a year now. I love it. It’s more accurate than I am capable. I’m new to bench shooting, but I can shoot about 3/4” groups with SK ammo at 50 yards. The gun certainly has more in it, the limitation is my skill, for the time being.

I got mine from I Run Guns, and I paid ~ $750 taxes in. Trigger is crisp, action is very smooth. I’ve had a few light primer strikes on one brand of ammunition, but no problems with the other 25+ brands I’ve run through it.

You should buy one. I think you’d like it!
