CZ 457 Varmint .22

I think I mentioned before that I’m sort of struggling with a bad case of “ Analysis Paralysis “ I need to find out what I want to try and compete in . I heard that one of the competitive disciplines you shoot all sorts of ways on the ground from ladders etc . I don’t fancy trashing the stock on the new rifle . I think I would like to shoot paper targets from 50 to 100 . Not sure what silhouette
shooting entails . I need to post in the Competition Forum !

Benchrest and F-Class like SFP scopes better, they aren't changing ranges all the time and the higher power SFP scopes with a very small dia crosshair doesn't cover up the spot they want to shoot at. The silohuette folk tend more towards SFP as well, although a lower powered FFP will work, the reticle is usually big enough, to use the reticle for holds, in the 10-12 power range, and 12x is OK for offhand shooting, just takes a bit of getting used to. They may have restrictions on scopes in silo matches, haven't looked at it in ages myself. PRS needs an FFP scope, 20MOA+ mounts to reach 300+ yds, these guys work a lot with the reticle, a lot don't like taking time to dial shots inside their comfort ranges, most won't dial wind, just use the reticle instead.
