CZ came out with a line of semiauto .22s, model 512 a year or so ago. They have both the LR and wmr models. I saw a couple dealer videos and early reviews saying the magnum cycles fine and the accuracy is not bad. Can't find any nay sayers on line indicating they have had problems like the Ruger 10/22, which is now discontinued, and the Remington 597. No one wants to sell the Ruger at a reasonable price, and everyone I mention this to about the Ruger, they say stay away from it, so CZ may be it for me!

I love CZ. Probably my favorite manufacturer. I haven't handled the 512, no one sells it locally AFAIK. I don't care for them aesthetically but I'd be willing to wager that its a better rifle than the Ruger or Remington.

512 22 mag

I have one and with the 30gr Hornady vmax ammo the accuracy at 100 yards is mighty fine. The trigger on these models takes some getting used to as they can be quite stiff for the first couple of hundred rounds. I tried several ammo types in mine and the Vmax was the clear winner. There are many threads about this on Rimfire Central in the CZ section. FS

Nother neat thing about this rifle is how far it flings out the spent brass, you have to watch it at the range as it will piss off the shooter next door. I just pretend not to notice then some one can post about the Fudd shooting the semi auto. FS

So no jamming issues at all?

I handled the new CZ semi at SHOTSHOW 2012 it really does not fit into the CZ,BRNO world when you see aluminum and real plain jane beechwood stock, it just puts me off, though when picked up, it fits and points very well. I guess I can`t change my opinion on the new rout that CZ USA is takiing the company, in this semi auto rimfire, but I have talked to others and they say it works very well. For the price and service you can`t go wrong on this new product, good luck, Dale Z!
